Animal Bite Center

If you are bitten by an animal:

  1. Clean the wound. Wounds should be washed and flushed immediately with soap and water for 10–15 minutes. If soap is not available, flush with water alone. This is the most effective first-aid treatment against rabies.

  1. Consult your doctor or go to your nearest hospital's emergency room for medical help. Marikina Valley Medical Center is an accredited Animal Bite Center

  1. The dog/cat has to be observed for signs of rabies for 10-14 days. Please consult with a veterinarian and/or your LGU, barangay or city veterinarian for guidance.

If you are bitten or nipped by your pet dog and you have not been properly vaccinating your dog, please also follow the steps mentioned above.
